Welcome Maslyn, our new Program Coordinator!

We are excited to introduce Maslyn Scott as our new Program Coordinator,

Maslyn was born and raised in Sǫ̀mba K’è, Denendeh, she is K’áhshó Got’ı̨nę and Tłı̨chǫ Dene. Maslyn is trained in graphic arts and has been participating in land-based programming and gatherings since the very first Dechinta program in 2010. Maslyn is passionate about applying her skills to community projects, inspired to honour and strengthen her connections with her community, culture and to the people who shaped her.

After graduating High School in 2021. Maslyn moved to British Columbia to attend Vancouver Film School, where she studied and earned a diploma in Visual Arts and Digital Design. In 2023 she returned home, and shortly after, she began a job as EntrepreNorth’s Digital Creator in 2024 taking a big step as a young graphic artist. In 2026, just before beginning at SWB, she had a few opportunities to work as a contract artist and found her true love for being a part of a team that creates spaces to uplift and center the wellbeing and visions of Indigenous and Northern experiences.

Though this is Maslyn’s first non-design related opportunity to work in the Indigenous health and wellbeing world, she is excited to bring her learnings from design and building community into her work at Supporting Wellbeing. Through her own experience, she knows the emotional challenges that reconnecting in cultural activities can bring up for many people. She believes that everyone deserves to navigate through these situations in a safe, organized and respectful environment with a compassionate team behind them.  She is honoured to be a part of a team that delivers these essential supports and training to help strengthen these spaces across Denendeh.

Maslyn is passionate about learning from the beautiful land and people that have raised her, she remains committed to constantly learning and refining her skills to support and uplift her community in the small ways that she can.
