Join Our Team: We’re Hiring a Program Coordinator

At Supporting Wellbeing (SWB), we believe that healing, connection, and wellbeing happen in relationship with land, culture, and one another.

We are looking for a Program Coordinator to join our team and help grow and strengthen land-based mental health training across the North.

Based in Yellowknife, this role is for someone who is deeply organized, relationship-focused, and passionate about supporting Northern communities through culturally grounded, trauma-informed, and Indigenous-led approaches to wellbeing.

Supporting Wellbeing is an emerging Northern training program based out of Somba K’e/Yellowknife. We work alongside Indigenous governments, organizations, facilitators, and community partners to provide practical tools and resources for people delivering land-based programming, helping them feel more prepared to respond to mental health challenges on the land.

We envision a future where where people can access land-based programs that are culturally affirming, trauma-informed, and rooted in Indigenous knowledge, strengthening cultures, languages, and ways of life for generations to come.

About the Role

The Program Coordinator plays a key role in bringing our work to life.

This position is centered around relationship-building, coordination, and community collaboration. You will work closely with our Project Director, facilitators, community partners, and contractors to plan and deliver trainings and gatherings across Northern communities.

Some days will involve coordinating travel, organizing logistics, and supporting budgets. Other days will involve meeting with community partners, helping shape programming based on local priorities, or spending time on the land alongside facilitators and participants.

This is meaningful, dynamic work that requires flexibility, strong communication, and a deep respect for community-led processes.

Who We’re Looking For

We know that experience comes in many forms.

Supporting Wellbeing recognizes that experience can come from many places – paid work, community roles, lived experience, land-based learning, and formal education. We welcome all of it.

You may be a good fit if you are someone who:

  • Builds strong relationships rooted in trust, care, and reciprocity
  • Is organized and able to hold multiple moving pieces at once while still meeting deadlines
  • Works well independently and collaboratively
  • Adapts to changing plans and community needs
  • Leads with empathy, accountability, and respect
  • Feels comfortable in both office spaces and land-based settings

Experience in Indigenous education, land-based programming, community wellbeing, mental health, event coordination, or partnership-building is an asset — but if you see yourself in this work, we encourage you to apply.
