We’re excited to introduce our Interim Project Director, Heather Nakehk’o!

Heather was born and raised in the midwest of the United States and immigrated to Sǫ̀mba K’è, Denendeh / Yellowknife, NT in 2002 to raise her family close to their Dene homelands of Łı́ı́dlı̨ı̨ Kų́ę́ and Łutselkʼe. 

Heather’s experience as a public servant, founding member of Dene Nahjo, hide tanner, and chef have honed her skills in collaborative leadership and support, leading teams, project management, analysis, time management, independent decision making, and strategic planning. 

Heather’s work, no matter the job, is rooted in family, community and land.  

As the Interim Project Director, she is responsible for the direction and delivery of Supporting Wellbeing.
